South Ottumwa Savings Bank was established over 110 years ago which makes it one of the oldest banks in Southeast Iowa. Since the Bank’s inception, the primary mission has been to serve the banking needs of Ottumwa as well as Wapello County. At the end of 2011, the Bank had the exciting opportunity to expand our mission into Keokuk and Jasper counties by purchasing the former Hedrick Savings Bank.
South Ottumwa Savings Bank is committed to the community by providing local decision making which allows us to be flexible in structuring your banking needs. South Ottumwa Savings Bank is a strong leader in the community which is evidenced by the many projects and activities that the Bank and/or Bank employees take a leading role in.
There have been a lot of changes over the past 110 years of Banking at South Ottumwa Savings Bank and I am very excited to announce another change that will be taking place in the near future. The Bank is planning a 6,000+ square foot addition to the Main Bank facility located at 320 Church Street in Ottumwa. The Motor Bank drive-up facility will be relocated to the Main Bank. The teller line will be set up to service both inside and drive-up customers from the same Teller line. Other departments will be more strategically located in order to service you, our customers more efficiently.
I am very excited about the owners of South Ottumwa Savings Bank making this positive economic financial impact to the community and South Ottumwa Savings Bank is looking forward to continuing to be a strong leader in our community for many years to come.
